Targeting less popular keyword phrases can be a winning strategy
When you've written a brilliant article or created the best website ever, you want to shout it to the world. And many designers choose keyword phrases based on how popular they are. After all, if a keyword phrase gets millions of searches a day, one of them is bound to end up on your site, right? Unfortunately, most searchers never make it past page 1 of search. This is why focusing on long tail searches can be beneficial in driving readers to your site.
Using long tail keywords is similar to using more popular keywords
The key is figuring out which section of the tail you want to focus on and then finding the keywords. Choosing a keyword phrase for any given page is an important step to create a well-optimized page. And by finding long-tail keywords to focus on you can develop a site with content that gets viewed by readers (even if not the millions available to top-tier terms).
